We set the standards.

Low-emission diesel and gas engines, climate-friendly fuel cell, special optimized fuel injection systems: As an engineer, you will be able to develop quite a few things at Tognum – excepting boredom. We directly reinvest five percent of our annual revenue into research and development, thus justifying our claim to technological leadership with regard to drive systems and decentralized energy supply.

Innovation is our tradition: As one of the first in the field, we introduced high-precision common rail technology to our MTU marine diesel engines in the mid-nineties. Today, we advance the further development in areas such as combined heat and power (CHP), turbo charging, electronic motor management and exhaust after-treatment. About 750 employees at our sites in Friedrichshafen, Detroit and Pune (India) are exclusively assigned to R&D tasks, transferring cutting-edge drive technology to heavy duty diesel engines in the off-highway and marine area.

A broad scope of challenging tasks is also awaiting you in the fields of manufacturing and service: The vertical integration of our drive systems amounts to up to 50 percent – a significantly higher figure than can be found in many related areas of commercial motor production. Our after-sales business, in turn, promises to become the fastest-growing corporate sector, already accounting for 25 percent of our overall revenue.
