The Magdeburg-based company SKL Motor GmbH is a German diesel engine manufacturer steeped in tradition. With its takeover by the Tognum subsidiary company MTU Friedrichshafen on January 2, 2008, the foundation for the new remanufacturing center for MTU diesel engines was laid. With its modern test stands and facilities, and benefiting from its long-term expertise going back as far as 1838, SKL is now becoming the center for major overhaul and parts replacement for MTU engines and components. SKL Motor GmbH manufactures medium-speed diesel engines in the power range from 500 to 2,350kW (670 to 3,150HP). Its current engine program in marine and power-generation applications as well as world-wide customer relations will be continued.
